I usually take customer statements in stride, but this one completely caught me off guard.

Do you know what entices you about what you do professionally?

I was asked this question by someone I had just contracted as a business coach...who has become a mentor and a friend. "What turns you on about cleaning?" A simple question enough, but a simple question with BIG impact.

My first implication was money, but money can be earned at any number of things. After thinking on it over night, I came to the conclusion it was the finished product. It was how the client or building looked as I or my staff was leaving out through the front door. It was the corners being spotless, it was the glass being smudge free, it was the garbage being taken out, it was the furniture arranged just so for the client's opening the following day. It was the fact that we were helping our customer make a GREAT first impression. Thanks Ken for opening my eyes and all the pushes in the right direction!
